The work of the "Intellectual Kemerovo State University" Centre for the Development of Children's Creativity in Science aims to support and develop the gifts of school children who have demonstrated an interest in studying chemistry, physics, mathematics, computer science and astronomy, to provide children with every support in their personal development and to involve them in research projects. Classes with students are conducted at the Kemerovo State University in the laboratories of the General and Experimental Physics Department, the Analytical and Inorganic Chemistry Department and the Organic and Physical Chemistry Department.

The applied work and research activity facilitate the development of broad scientific thinking, logic skills and engineering talents. The main task for the center is helping the students to discover and develop their talents, guide them in making plans and lay the foundation for success in future academic Olympics, R&D and project work.

The aim of the Centre's work is the development of gifted children in natural and exact sciences. This is achieved by in-depth training of schoolchildren in grades 5-11 through after-school education programs. In the 2021-2022 academic year at the Rubtsovsk branch of the "Heirs of Polzunov" Centre for the Development of Children's Creativity in Science and Engineering more than 230 students study in 6 disciplines: introductory courses, mathematics, physics, chemistry, robotics and informatics. Leading teachers of the Rubtsovsk Industrial Institute and other educational institutions of Rubtsovsk conduct classes at the centre. Students are actively involved in science research and creative endeavors.
