The Children's Scientific Competition (DNK) of the Andrey Melnichenko Foundation, established in 2018, is an annual expo-competition of schoolchildren's natural science research and engineering. One of the goals of the event is to identify and develop talented children in the field of scientific, research, design and engineering activities.
There are several stages in the competition. In November, at the Foundation's educational centres, qualifying rounds take place. At the end of January, the final round brings together the best projects of pupils of the Foundation's centres for the development of children's creativity in science and engineering, "Quantorium" science centres and schools.
The winners of the Children's Scientific Competition receive certificates and valuable prizes and represent Russia at international competitions, incl. the finals of Regeneron ISEF - the world's largest science and engineering fair for schoolchildren. Since 2019, the Children's Scientific Competition has been affiliated to ISEF and has sent its top winners and their projects to participate in this "world championship" of young inventors and scientists.
